vivo continues its efforts in the foldable phone market. The Chinese company is set to soon unveil the vivo X Fold 5, a competitor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Recent developments have revealed new details about the company’s upcoming foldable device.
What will the vivo X Fold 5 offer?
Reliable industry sources have disclosed all the details about the upcoming vivo X Fold 5. Last year, Vivo launched two models: the X Fold 3 and the X Fold 3 Pro. However, this year, only a single model is expected to be released.
According to sources, the launch of the vivo X Fold 5 is planned for July, although it could be moved up to June depending on the internal development process. Earlier reports suggested the device would be released in China in the third quarter of 2024.
The foldable phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and feature a large 6,000 mAh battery. It is also said to support wireless charging. On the back, the device will sport a periscope telephoto lens with a 50 MP Sony IMX882 sensor.
It is claimed that the device will have dual 20 MP selfie cameras located both on the cover screen and the inner screen. However, this contradicts earlier reports suggesting there will be two 32 MP selfie cameras. Finally, the phone will come with multiple memory and storage options, with the top model expected to offer 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage capacity.
